Questions we are asked before an enquiry
- What does a HEAVY ARTS object cost?
- There is no price list. Each object begins as a specific reclaimed part whose condition is discovered rather than chosen, so the hours of stabilisation, the glass specification and the transport all vary. A quotation names the object, the part allocated to it, the finished dimensions, the glass, the lead time and a price ex works EU, and it states its own validity period. We answer within two working days.
- Are these genuinely reclaimed machine parts?
- Yes. Every object is built from one authenticated component taken from a documented source — a dozer blade, track idler, bogie, sprocket, hydraulic ram, slewing ring or similar. The source, its condition before transformation and the process are recorded on a certificate that ships with the object, together with photographs before and after.
- How heavy are the objects, and will my floor take it?
- Mass is verified at prototype stage and stated on request; we do not publish figures we have not measured. What decides suitability is not total mass but concentrated load — mass divided by the contact area of the feet. Tell us the floor construction and finish with your enquiry and we will confirm before you commit.
- Can I have a different size?
- Within structural limits, yes. The part sets the proportions, so a bespoke object usually means a different part rather than a stretched version of an existing one. We also work from parts entrusted by clients. It starts with a conversation about the space, the dimensions and the access route.
- Clear or smoked glass — which should I choose?
- Clear glass keeps the steel fully visible and shows every mark; smoked glass lowers contrast, hides dust and lets the silhouette dominate. Rooms in daily use tend to suit smoked; objects meant to be the subject of a room suit clear. Every top is tempered, and larger spans are laminated as well.
- Do you deliver outside Poland?
- Yes. Objects are quoted ex works EU, with transport estimated separately from the access information you provide — floor, lift, staircase turns and unloading at street level. Access matters far more than distance for an object of this mass, which is why the two figures are kept apart.
