Sealed, not repainted: what stays on the steel
The difference between a restored part and a preserved one is a decision made in the first hour of work, and it cannot be reversed later.
01What we remove
Grease, hydraulic residue, loose corrosion and anything that will keep moving under a finish. Removal stops the moment we reach sound material — we do not chase a clean surface for its own sake.
02What we keep
Adhered original coating, oxide colour, impact marks, and weld repairs made during the working life of the part. A repair someone made in a field workshop in 2009 is part of the record, and it stays.

03The finish system
A matte two-component sealer, applied thin, with no pigment and no gloss. It stabilises the surface against handling and humidity without producing the wet plastic look that ruins reclaimed steel.
